Some love stories are meant to be grand, and others find their beauty in simplicity. One of the sweetest weddings I had the pleasure of capturing took place on a crisp, overcast day in downtown Portland, Oregon. The couple, who preferred to keep things intimate and heartfelt, chose to exchange their vows at the iconic Multnomah County Courthouse.

The courthouse, with its stately architecture and timeless charm, provided the perfect backdrop for their elopement. As they held hands and spoke their vows in the quiet, intimate setting, it was clear that their love needed no grand audience—it was radiant on its own. Every moment, from the soft smiles to the heartfelt tears, was a photographer’s dream.

After the ceremony, we wandered through downtown, soaking up the vibrant energy of the city. A short walk brought us to the Salmon Street Springs Park.

The day ended with a stop at one of Portland’s beloved local pubs, Paddy’s. Over some great drinks, they celebrated their new chapter together. It was a reminder that the simplest celebrations can be the most meaningful.
